Tank's Barley House Hendrum, MN

Over the river and down the road to Tank's in Hendrum we went! The Uncertains were on the road Friday, September 29th as we headed to Hendrum, MN to try out their food after receiving a recommendation from one of our readers. After checking out Tank's on their Facebook page we decided to venture in to Minnesota, and head somewhere none of us had been before. We headed straight east out of Hope, and reached our destination after about 45 minutes, not a bad drive considering we've traveled much longer for a good meal. After arriving we asked for the menu, and were informed that they had appetizers and frozen pizzas. Not ones to shy away from a challenge we opted to try each appetizer and also ordered 2 pizzas. Hey, we were there; we had to try it! While waiting for our food we were able to entertain ourselves with a game of uno, which was in a basket on the table, and also their nose coasters-which definitely got a few laughs for the night! We had barely finished our first game when the appetizers started rolling out. We enjoyed the usual potato wedges and cheese curds, but were also treated to Ham and Cheese Bites, Chicken Cordon Bleu Bites, Onion Petals, Salt & Pepper Fries, Mini Tacos, and Boneless Wings (Asian Zing and Garlic Parmesan). We enjoyed the them all with the favorites being the Chicken Cordon Bleu Bites (they had great flavor), Mini Tacos (which were large and had real taco meat in them), and the Boneless Asian Zing Wings (they were lightly breaded and tasted awesome!) The apps were followed by 2 Up North Pizzas, a 4 meat and a Chicken Alfredo.. Both were excellent as frozen pizzas go, with a thin, but tender crusty and good sauce and toppings. The drink special for the night was Pumpkin and Chocolate martinis so we decided to try those too! We ordered one of each to share. While the Chocolate one was good, we decided we favored the pumpkin with it's whipped cream topping. We enjoyed it so much we ordered a 2nd one to share! After we finished off most of the food (we had a few bites left over after stuffing our faces) we visited with the owner "Tank" who told us they also have food specials, usually on Thursday with their specialty being Street Tacos! We also discovered a collection of party games to play so we spent some time playing Headbandz (which we were pretty good at), and Mad Gab (which we weren't)! All in all we had a great night with great service and great food. Tank and his wife were very accommodating, and had a great serving staff who put up with us with a smile and a visit! Thanks for the hospitality! On the way home we stopped in Halstad, and got to meet a couple of the regulars there too! We were able to put another great experience in the books, and gave Tanks in Hendrum a 4.5 out of 5 vans. I'm guessing it would have been a 5 if we had done the research and showed up on a street taco night! For anyone looking for a fun night out, stop in to Tank's in Hendrum, MN and play a few hands of Uno, try out the Nose Coasters or give Headbanz a try! Keep us in mind if you stumble upon a small town eatery that we can go check out! We are trying to get somewhere at least once a month so thank you for being patient as you wait for new posts! #blogpositive #lovethestreetlights #givingtanks
